Location-Based Alerts

WebIS has announced two major releases to its integrated calendaring and tasks app for iOS 4, Pocket Informant, including a major update to its current iPhone edition and a brand new iPad edition. New features include icons for events/tasks, iOS 4 multitasking support, local notifications, and location-based alerts. Pocket Informant is one of the most popular productivity applications for iOS with over 125,000 customers and over 450,000 downloads of Pocket Informant Lite.

While other apps focus on either solely calendaring or tasks, Pocket Informant stands out among the productivity apps on the iOS by merging full-featured task management with robust calendaring in one app. Realizing that most users are mobile we have focused on location based features in our last few releases.

Among the several new features added to version 1.5 is one called "Location Based Alerts". By setting a location for your task contexts, Pocket Informant now monitors your location changes in the background and will alert you automatically when you are near an area where you can complete some tasks. "This is one of our favorite new features we have implemented in quite a while" says Alex Kac, CEO. "You can now tell Pocket Informant not only when to remind you about a task, but also where to remind you".

Building on the success of Pocket Informant for iPhone, today WebIS is also announcing a brand new release of Pocket Informant specifically designed for iPad. Pocket Informant HD takes productivity on your iPad to a new level by bringing the same great event and task management together in an app designed from the ground up to run on your iPad. By providing OTA sync to Google, Toodledo and Outlook, you can now keep your calendar and task information completely in sync from your iPhone to your iPod touch and now to your iPad as well.

WebIS released the first iPhone version of their popular application Pocket Informant a little over a year ago. "We now have Pocket Informant on three mobile platforms and we're thrilled with the response we've had from our iPhone customers over this past year" says Alex Kac, CEO. "And between the iPad and iOS 4, we're very excited about our roadmap ahead of us for the upcoming year."

Pocket Informant features include:
* A calendar built the way an iOS Calendar should be
* Today, Month, Day, Portrait Week, Landscape Week, List, Task, and Search views
