Apple Surpases Microsoft in Quarterly Revenue

Apple has surpassed Microsoft in quarterly revenue for the first time in nearly 15 years. Today Microsoft reported revenue of $16.20 billion for the third calendar quarter of 2010. That is $4 billion less that Apple's $20.34 billion quarter announced last week.

While Microsoft is still generating more profit due to its focus on software, this is quite an accomplishment for the company.

*thanks iclarified*

Well think of it this way, if apple would allow us to install their os on any computer and it was around the same price or a little lower than windows is they would be making roughly 35-45billion each quarter. Don't forget there are many people that a making hackintosh computers and this number would grow exponentially if these people would be able to buy a low end pc and install OSX on it...
