Oscar winner Christian Bale is David Fincher’s choice to play Steve Jobs in Aaron Sorkin movie

The Wrap is reporting that David Fincher is eyeing Christian Bale as his ‘first choice’ to play Steve Jobs. The Sony movie, written by Aaron Sorkin, is aiming to start filming by the end of the year.

While Steve Jobs is a long way from Batman, Bale has been considered a prime contender to play the tech superhero since the project was first announced due to his physical resemblance to the Apple co-founder.

Bale has not been approached to play Jobs yet, as the actor is taking a brief break from the business to spend time with his family since wrapping the role of Moses in Ridley Scott’s “Exodus.” The Biblical epic is expected to have Bale back in the awards conversation.

According to the site, Bale has not yet been asked to take part in the film — in fact, many details of the film are still up in the air. In fact, Fincher says that he will only direct the film if Bale will sign on as Steve Jobs.

The film, written by Sorkin, will present the story of Jobs across only three scenes, each approximately thirty minutes in length. The movie will focus on Jobs in the run up to the Mac, NeXT, and the iPod announcement keynotes. The report says that filming will likely start early in 2015. Hopefully, the film will turn out better than the unofficial Jobs movie starring Ashton Kutcher from last year, which received a somewhat muted reception.
